On Thursday the Prep, Year One and Year Two students participated in a Mini Olympics.

The day consisted of an opening ceremony, various Olympic themed events and crafts.

We had such a wonderful day and felt like real Olympians!

We started our Mini Olympics with an Opening Ceremony. Each class had the chance to walk around the hall and wave just like our own Aussie athletes at the Tokyo Olympics. We sang Advance Australia Fair, participated in our own running of the torch and had our Principal Mrs. Maria formally open our Mini Olympics.

We sang Advance Australia Fair together to start our opening ceremony.

Our Principal Mrs. Maria reciting our Olympic oath and officially opening our Mini Olympics.

Learning to play discus for the first time. We had our technique down pat!

We completed a very difficult obstacle course. We had the best time crawling, jumping and hopping!

Mrs. Rivellese showing us how to jump over the hurdles!

We felt very strong throwing our vortexes and pretending we were competing in shot put!

Competing in our own version of high jump. It was amazing to see how high our little Preps could jump!

The final event of the day was a staff race between the teachers! We were impressed with how fast they could run!

During the day and throughout the week we spent time completing Olympic themed writing activities and creating crafts.
We made 3D Olympic torches and wrote about what event we would win gold in!
