Our Prep - Year 2 students had an incredible time

Our Prep - Year 2 students had an incredible time at their recent footy clinic. A huge thank you to parent Sam F, who generously shared his football skills & enthusiasm with our young learners. Sam’s engaging session introduced the children to exciting football techniques, including the zombie, teddy bear & superhero mark! The students had a blast practicing their kicking and handballing skills. Sam’s involvement made the clinic educational and fun, showing the wonderful impact that family participation can have on enriching our students’ learning experiences. Thank you Sam! In the lead up to the Senior Students’ Market Day next term & their inquiry unit ‘Is My Business Blooming’ , owner & head pastry chef Elisha Kesici @sucree.cafedessertbar spoke to our students about running a business. Elisha’s passion is cooking & she shared her story of how she turned this into a successful business.
Elisha explained that sacrifice, hard work & dedication are necessary for a business to thrive. We know her valuable advice will inspire the students in developing their own business plan during this unit.

The Year 6 students had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Bishop Terry Curtin before their formal Confirmation ceremony next term. Bishop Terry immediately engaged the students with his charisma & stories that always carried an important underlying message. The students interacted too discussing how they chose their Confirmation name & the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It’s always an honour to welcome Bishop Terry to St Paul’s PS! 🕊️

Today we were thrilled to welcome author & illustrator, Sue deGennaro as part of our Book Week celebrations. Sue’s recent picture book ‘Bear and Duck are Friends’ was one of this year’s CBCA Honour winners. Sue read some of her picture books, explained the creative process of character development followed by an illustration workshop. Sue was amazing with the students & truly brought out their potential. The results were spectacular & the children were so proud of the work! Thank you @suedegennaro for such an engaging session!

This week is Bullying No Way Week. This important initiative connects schools and communities to find workable solutions to prevent bullying. At St Paul’s, our students have been spreading an awareness that Bullying is not OK! The students
have been working through their Social Emotional Curriculum identifying what a bully is, as well as problem solving appropriate responses to bullying and how to seek support. They have learnt to be an upstander and not a bystander. All students have made a Bully Free Pledge as a sign of their commitment to being kind and inclusive. 💜
